We just got to Bozeman MT for a week of Passive House Builder workshop.
On my stroll to downtown, I came across this jobsite.
They have 2″ exterior insulation, and triple pane windows.
In terms of building science details and execution, what do you see?
Yes, these photos will likely end up in our updated Passive House training textbook.
While the exterior wrap is vapor open, that appears to be vapor closed foam on the exterior.. and if so, the walls will have to dry to the interior. While possible in Montana, it is less possible if they’re actively humidifying. The counter flashing and penetration air-sealing appears to be incomplete.
