The building industry is shifting toward high performance building standards, and Passive House is leading the forefront. For Colorado builders and architects operating within the Colorado Xcel Energy grid, things just got a lot easier to attend our Passive House Training in Denver.

We know that many Colorado professionals want to earn their PHI CPHT (Certified Passive House Tradesperson) credential. However, many find the upfront cost to be a major hurdle. In the past, you had to pay the full $2,490 out of pocket. Consequently, you had to wait for a 90% reimbursement check from Xcel after the course was finished.
We have updated our Denver process to keep that money in your pocket. This change helps you stay ahead of changing Colorado energy codes without the financial strain.

What has changed for Colorado participants?
We worked hard to remove the wait time and the financial barrier for those eligible for Xcel Energy professional rebates. Therefore, the savings now happen the moment you receive approval for the Xcel reimbursement:
-
Upfront Discount: Once Xcel approves you, we will send you a coupon code for the 90% amount.
-
Lower Initial Investment: You use that code at checkout and only pay the remaining 10% balance. This means your total cost for building science training in Colorado will be $249 per person before tax.
-
No More Waiting: You no longer have to carry the full cost of the course on your books while waiting for a check to arrive in the mail.
As a result, you can start your PHI CPHT certification immediately without impacting your cash flow. You can start the Colorado approval process here: Xcel Application

Flex vs. Focus: Denver Logistics
Your attendance schedule depends on which training option you pick for our Denver location. Both paths lead to the same Certified Passive House Tradesperson credential. However, we designed them to fit different professional needs:
-
In-Person Duration: Five days in Denver.
-
Schedule: Participants spend two days in a classroom with an instructor. Afterward, they spend two days working on the Passive Pod module and half a day taking the certification test.
-
Best For: Those who want a fully immersive experience with live instruction for the entire building science curriculum.
-
In-Person Duration: Two and a half days in Denver.
-
Schedule: We now offer the option to take the classroom learning portion online. Because of this, you are only present in person for the hands-on module and the test.
-
Process: Students take the classroom material at their own pace in the weeks leading up to the course. You will only be present on Wednesday, Thursday, and a half-day Friday.
-
Best For: Professionals who must minimize their time away from the job site while still getting the necessary hands-on experience.
