Networking lunches are included in the training fees to allow participants to get to know each other, and grow their professional networks. In combination with the Passive House social event (see below), these in-between moments are designed to grow the local high-performance ecosystem.

Advanced Building Science Training

For construction professionals looking to master advanced building science, this program offers the most comprehensive Passive House training in the Bay Area, California.

Designed to provide a deep dive into best practices, real life risk mitigation, and innovative product applications, our curriculum covers advanced building science concepts with a practical, approachable structure including:

• air and moisture management
• indoor air quality and thermal comfort
• mechanical systems for low-load buildings, incl. ERV/HRVs
• testing, measurement, and verification

From the Theory to Real-life Applications

Unlike other certification programs, this Passive House training in The Bay Area, California is centered around best practices and practical solutions for high-performance buildings. The hands-on workshop bridges the gap between theory and real-life with practical exercises on:

• air sealing techniques and products
• thermal bridge mitigation
• low-carbon insulation
• high performance window install
• smoke and infrared testing

Participants in this Bay Area training learn to successfully deliver both PHI and Phius Passive House projects in Colorado and anywhere else. These skills are also highly applicable to projects not seeking certification.
