Immersive Passive House training: Focus Boot Camp
The OG Boot Camp format of Emu’s Passive House training, the in-person Focus Boot Camp consists of 4 1/2 days of in-person training. This allows participants to focus on the week of training, with a deep dive in advanced building science and Passive House techniques.
The typical schedule of a Focus Boot Camp consists of:
- day 1+2: in-person advanced building science course
- day 3+4: hands-on Passive Pod Workshop
- day 5: in-person Passive House certification exam + social event

A flexible, hybrid experinece: Flex Boot Camp
To accommodate for different learning styles, Emu is now offering the new, hybrid Flex Format. Participants go over the course material of day 1+2 (the power point-style seminar) on their own time before coming to the hands-on Pod Workshop starting on day 3.
The typical schedule of a Flex Boot Camp consists of:
- day 1+2: you skip, by going over the advanced building science course material beforehand in a self-paced online format beforehand (approximately 14 hours).
- day 3+4: hands-on Passive Pod Workshop
- day 5: in-person Passive House certification exam + social event
Hands-on Training, Passive House Certification, and Networking Opportunities
Both Boot Camp Format include:
- Hands-on Passive Pod Workshop
- Passive House Certification Exam
- Passive House social event and networking opportunities.
Really, the main difference between the two Boot Camp formats that Emu offers is how the building science course is delivered. The material is covered in person over the first two days of the Focus format. In the Flex format, participants go through the material on their own online, before coming to the Passive Pod Workshop.
