Training Materials Spotlight
Here’s a quick look at the materials that make our Passive Pod Workshop possible. Huge thanks to our amazing donors for supporting hands-on Passive House training across the U.S.
We collaborate with material partners across the regions we serve to support workforce development, technical understanding, and real-world application within the built environment. Through our Passive House Bootcamps, materials are not simply presented—they are integrated into hands-on training environments where participants engage directly with assemblies, detailing strategies, and installation sequencing. This approach creates a deeper understanding of how materials perform in practice, within the context of high-performance building standards.

Self-adhering, monolithic, vapor permeable membrane, and a durable weather resistive barrier or roof underlayment.

Low-permeance tape designed for protective sealing, hanging, seaming, splicing, and patching applications.
Insulation
Hempitecture

Hemp fiber batt insulation for wood and metal framing systems.
Hempitecture

PlantPanel is used in split-insulation wall and roof assemblies with either a rain screen cladding or roofing material, depending on the application.
Rockwool

Rigid stone wool insulation board, to be used in above-grade walls, below-grade foundation walls, under concrete slabs and in pitched roof applications.
Windows
Alpen

Lightweight multi-pane AlpenGlass IGUs combined with top-of-the-line, fiberglass composite uPVC frames.
Internorm

High-performance timber-aluminium window. Frame-sash flushed transition.
Vonderhaus

Aluminum frame windows, thermally broken with a high-density polyurethane isolator, triple or quad lite.
The Material Donor Spotlight is not a traditional campaign
It is an education-driven initiative grounded in real use and meaningful engagement. Materials are introduced through instructor-led discussions, mockups, and build exercises, allowing professionals to experience them in context rather than through catalogs or specifications alone. This creates a more authentic connection between product and application—where feedback, questions, and insights emerge naturally through hands-on learning and peer interaction.
We’re always looking to collaborate with manufacturers that produce sustainable construction products, who value this approach and want to be part of a growing network shaping the future of high-performance construction. Through participation, partners gain visibility within a highly engaged audience of builders, designers, and consultants actively working in the field. If you’re interested in contributing to this initiative, we invite you to connect with us and be part of Emu Passive’s Material Donor Spotlight Program.
