For Online Training:

All sales are final. No refunds and/or cancellations available for Online Training once on-demand access to the curriculum has been granted.

For In-person Training events:

If a customer would like to cancel a registration, a full refund (minus a booking fee) must be requested in writing more than 30 days in advance. If we receive a written request to cancel less than 30 days before the start date, there will be a 50% refund per student. If a request to cancel is less than 15 days from the start date, we are unable to issue a refund.

If a customer would like to reschedule and move a registration to a later class, please request the change in writing more than 30 days before the start date. If we receive a written request to reschedule less than 30 days before the start date, there will be a $250 administrative fee per student.

If Emu cancels a Training session prior to the start date due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, the customer will be either refunded in full or rescheduled to a later Training session. In the event that Emu is forced to cancel an event once it has already started (due to health concerns, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances), we will make every effort to reschedule the remaining portion of the session and/or refund each customer after travel expenses have been recouped.

Emu is not responsible for refunding any costs associated with travel or accommodation. We strongly recommend that, if you are traveling, you take out a travel insurance to assist you in the event of a class cancellation.

Emu reserves the right to use the contact information that you provide us to communicate with the you. We will not share your data with any third party without your consent.

For Exams:

If a customer would like to cancel an Exam registration, a full refund (minus a 3rd party processing fee) must be requested in writing more than 30 days in advance. In the event that we receive a written request to cancel less than 30 days before the start date, there will be a 50% refund per student. If a request to cancel is less than 15 days from the Exam date, we are unable to issue a refund. In the event that Emu or PHI cancels an Exam session, the customer will be either refunded in full or the student(s) will be rescheduled to a later Exam session.

If a customer would like to reschedule and move a registration to a later Exam session, please request the change in writing more than 30 days before the start date. In the event that we receive a written request to reschedule less than 30 days before the start date, there will be a $50 administrative fee per student. If a request to reschedule is less than 15 days from Exam date, accommodation of that request is at the discretion of the Emu Training Technician.

IMPORTANT: Student Computer Literacy Requirements

Each student taking the exam is required to attend the scheduled Tech Check that Emu offers. During this Tech Check, we will walk through how to access the online exam environment, and you will take the PHI Trial Exam. If the student is unable to attend the scheduled Tech Check, there is a “self-guided” option to attempt the Trial Exam, which must be completed as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE: students must execute the Trial Exam by at least 72 hours before the Exam date, or we will not be able to process the exam and no refund will be issued. Emu makes every effort to support our students in preparing for the online exam environment by offering the self-guided Tech Check as well as one scheduled IT support meeting (at our discretion and subject to availability). However, a basic level of computer literacy is required for this process. Students must know what their Operating System is, how to download and install an application, and how to access downloaded files to run. If a student is unable to meet the Tech Check requirements by no later than 72 hours before the Exam date, we will be unable to allow them access to the Exam Day session. IMPORTANT: These terms apply to every Exam registration, and it should be noted that the student’s ability to perform the Trial Exam can impact the terms of any requested refunds. Please ensure that all students understand.

For Host Partners or Companies/Organizations acting as customer:

Please see the sections titled “In-Person Training Events“, “Exams” and “Student Computer Literacy Requirements” for additional terms and conditions that apply and should be communicated to the students for whom you are paying. In addition, if Emu has offered you a specific Scope of Work, please refer to the deadlines therein with the following definitions and terms:

  • Registration Date – date of Emu’s receipt of payment for the non-refundable Setup Fee
  • Enrollment Deadline – 2 months prior to the start of class, the Host Partner will deliver to Emu the final enrollment list of participating students, and we will issue the first invoice if we have not already done so. At this time, we also require the exchange of any required insurance information. From this date forward, any cancellations requested by the customer will be subject to administrative fees of $50/hr.
  • Confirmation Deadline – 3 weeks prior to the start of class, if there are outstanding invoices due to Emu, we reserve the right to cancel. From this date forward, we will not process any refunds, cancellations, substitutions or changes to the enrollment list, ensuring that we have enough time to prepare the materials accurately. In the event that Emu cancels a Training session prior to the start date due to low enrollment, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances, the customer will be either refunded in full or rescheduled to a later Training session.
  • Start Date – In the event that Emu is forced to cancel an event once it has already started (due to health concerns, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances), we will make every effort to reschedule the remaining portion of the session and/or refund each customer after travel expenses have been recouped.
